Today was the annual Halloween party at our school.

Children, candy, games & activities: put these items together on a late October weekend and you’ll be discussing the annual Halloween party at our English school.

Today was actually a boo-tiful day outside: sunny but a bit cool. Many years we’ve had cool, rainy days on the party day and though that weather better matches the theme of the party, it’s much easier to deal with this kind of party when the weather is nice.

The party started with the costume contest. Many students enjoy their costumes so much that they end up voting for their own costume. In the end, 2 costumes came up with more votes than all others, and those two individuals were awarded prizes.

After the costume contest there were a few other activities, including the mummy-making activity. Over the years we’ve noticed that students’ overall skill in this area has dramatically improved. I’m not sure what this skill will be useful for in the future, but during the party it makes the task of choosing a winner extremely difficult.

Students went home with snacks in their tummies, bags full of candies, and smiles on their faces. Hopefully we’ve given everyone good memories that will stay with them forever. Happy halloween!
