October 2012 Cooking Lesson

Today my students and I got together for another cooking lesson.

It’s been a while.


The last time my students and I had a cooking lesson was at the end of winter this year.


Today’s theme was lemongrass. The meal included a Thai curry soup, a Thai salad, and lemongrass bars for dessert.


Lemongrass is often overlooked as a cooking ingredient. Many people have it growing in their gardens as it fills in spaces nicely and has a pleasant scent when touched. But lemongrass has a lemony quality different than citrus fruits, such as lemons or sudachis.


The students did a great job preparing all foods and it was wonderful to get together with them.
