Today I did some baking.I wanted to make something sweet and white in celebration of White Day.I've discussed White Day in a past blog, but for those who don't know, White Day is the counterpart to St. Valentine's Day. In Japan, typically females give males something (usually chocolate) for St. Valentine's Day, and males reciprocate with a gift on White Day.The recipe I chose for this year was an old favourite of mine, called Chocolate Crinkles. The cookies are loaded with chocolate and cocoa powder, and covered with white icing sugar. As they bake, the cookies spread and show 'crinkles' of dark chocolate through their white crust. Sweet, chocolaty and also coincidentally low in fat! So. have a second or a third cookie.Modest testing/tasting was performed, and all cookies so far tested have proved worthy of making. Some of the cookies will be distributed over the next week to various students, but there will be leftovers to deal with. What shall I do with the leftovers?
