Whatcha eatin'? Naan of your business!

Curry for dinner tonight, so I made some naan.

I finished making today’s curry earlier in the day and therefore had lots of time to make some naan. This isn’t usually the case. I can usually make a great curry, start to finish in about 20 minutes. That includes mixing all of the spices, and cooking everything together and using nothing instant. My kids usually want naan to go along with the curry, but because I can make curry quickly I often make it late in the day and therefore don’t have the time to do the naan.

I did some searching for naan recipes today. I’ve collected a number of them and they’ve all generally been OK, but I thought I’d keep looking. The picture of the naan bread I found looked pretty close to what I was after, so I used that recipe. The site He Cooks, She Cooks had the recipe I tried today.

I changed the recipe just a bit, by adding a bit of sugar to the dough. I also used the lid from my cast iron dutch oven to cook the naans. It is heavy but it holds the heat well and cooks the breads quickly.

They came out looking great. They have a nice chew to them (I had a small nibble) and taste very good. My kids will eat the lion’s share of them, though and I foresee no complaints coming from them. Enjoy!
