At the Sunday Market in Kochi

We drove to Kochi prefecture today to visit the Sunday market.

While I’ve been to Kochi prefecture a few times, due to my wife’s hometown of Mugi being close to Kochi prefecture, I’ve never been to Kochi city.

My family drove out to Kochi city this morning via the highway system that connects up to Kochi. It’s simple 2-hour drive that was uneventful. However I noticed that if you don’t like tunnels, then this would be a difficult drive (ie. lots and lots of long tunnels).

We had a good time looking at the wares at the various stalls and bought a variety of items along the way. Our lunch was a collection of foods, some from the stalls in the market and some from the huge food court near the end of the market place.

In Kochi Park we had our lunch and then went to see Kochi castle. A volunteer guide gave us an English tour of the castle, providing us with many fun facts as well as information about Kochi. Many thanks for the tour!!

All in all it was a great day in Kochi and we look forward to our next visit.
