Today’s Halloween, but the food was not scary. It was delicious!

Well, they did it again. The students did a fantastic job in the kitchen.

Today’s menu included pork tenderloin, carrots, greens and a lemony cake. It was a lot of work to do, but there were no problems in the preparation. Our lesson time, which also includes eating and talking time means that there is usually many tasks to keep everyone busy. Sometimes, like today, the oven is needed for 2 recipes and that means working efficiently with the time, and with kitchen space.

The pork turned out tender and nicely seasoned, with a reduced sauce that added that little something extra to the dish. The carrots, with a citrusy taste provided a change of taste for the mouth, with a hint of sweetness, but not sweet in the end. The greens today were asparagus, and the vinaigrette’s acidity was another different taste. Having different tastes on the plate made eat mouthful interesting and tasty.

For dessert we enjoyed the lemony cake that was neither sweet nor sour, but both of these tastes.

I hope you enjoyed your lunch today as much as we did. Until the next cooking lesson, happy eating!
