Fall is Upon Us

Sad to say, but fall is here.

We are still experiencing temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius and above, with high humidity and we are moving deeper in September. But, summer is over.

This is a sight observed this morning when out on my morning walk, and it, to me, conveys fall.

The color is not green, not fresh, but yellow, dry. The rice has been cut from the land. There is no crop growing on the field at this time.

Hanging the rice to dry is traditional though not seen as much nowadays as many farmers use electric dryers for their rice.

Gradually, we'll see more signs that summer is gone. The temperatures will cool. The air will become more dry. The pattern of the sun has already been changing from its summer path.

More and more leaves will change color, then drop. On and on, the changes will come, the season will change, and then before we know it, winter will be upon us.

Such is nature. Observe. Take part. Learn.

Welcome, fall.
