November's Cooking Lesson

Today was this month’s cooking lesson.

Time flies between one cooking lesson and the next.

There are recipes to find, recipes to test, ingredients to source and the final prep to take care of.

Frittata is the main course for today’s lesson. It is one of the first items I can remember learning to cook, and I took to frittatas quickly. For me, they were easy to prepare, used up leftovers, filled tummies, and tasted good. Fortunately, frittatas are still all of those things.

It took a couple of tries to figure out what ingredients we wanted in today’s frittata but it wasn’t too difficult. We finally decided on leftover rice, asparagus, sausage and cheese to be thrown into the frittata. I’ve always made my frittatas with leftover pasta but we reasoned that more than likely, most people in Japan would probably have leftover rice more than leftover pasta.

The dessert menu was trickier. I did a lot of testing of various desserts, but none of them satisfied our tastes. In the end, we decided to go with the brownie in a cup recipe that we’ve been using for a while and which our daughters love to use when they want a sweet snack.

Everything turned out great. My tummy is full and happy and I had a great time. Thanks to all!
