Arrr! To the plank with you!

Today was a nice day. Therefore, one must BBQ!

This planking does not involve walking. This planking does not involve falling into the ocean. This planking does not involve sharks (though, it is possible).


Today’s planking was done over the BBQ. I used some cedar planks and BBQ’ed some salmon. The matter of adding a sauce or special flavourings was discussed, but in the end we decided to just have a simple smoked salmon.


The planks (two) were soaked in water for 2 hours and then the salmon was salted and put on the planks.


I’d already BBQ’ed the corn (it turned out so sweet) and now it was time for the salmon.


The planks went on the BBQ for about 30 minutes. The planks smoked the salmon really well.


We ate the salmon from (only) one of the planks and have the 2nd plank to snack on tomorrow. Muffin also enjoyed the salmon.
