I'm a Diubach!

Jura - a fine Scotch Whisky.

I’m a pretty lucky guy. I have a great family. I live in a nice place. I have my health and my mind (for now). I’m even a land-owner in Scotland (see here).

Well, today I became a Diubach. What’s a Diubach you ask? Well, from what I’ve been told, it’s Gaelic for people of Jura, an area of Scotland.

I recently purchased a bottle of this fine, single malt Scotch Whisky and been introduced to this information. The Whisky itself, their 10 year old, is a nice Whisky. It’s described as light, delicate and with a warm, honey finish. I detect nuances of grapes leading me to wonder if the Whisky matures in Sherry casks for part of its life. No matter, it’s a delicious nectar.

Jura Whisky is very generous to its patrons because by becoming a Diubach (free), I may now receive a free dram of their Whisky each month, for life! For life!!!!! There’s just the little matter of airfare and accommodations that I have to take care of, and then I’m there.

Perhaps, if I build a summer home on my property in Scotland (a wee little place) I’ll solve the accommodation problem and just have to deal with the airfare.

The Scot’s are a wonderful people. First free land, now free Whisky. What’s next? I can’t wait to find out!
