April 29th is Showa Day. May 3rd is Constitution Memorial Day. May 4th is Green Day. May 5th is Children’s Day.

The week of holidays that occur at the end of April and beginning of May are called the Golden Week holidays.

This year the weather was great for most of the holiday period.

My holidays were from May 3rd (Friday) until today, May 7th (Tuesday).

During the holidays we went shopping at Youme Town (a shopping mall), went to an onsen (hot spring), went to Mugi for a couple of days, went to the beach, went swimming, and put new sod in our backyard. Add in a birthday, a wedding anniversary and (coming soon) Mother’s day and it really is a golden week.

It was a nice holiday break, but with all the work done yesterday, I’m looking forward to going back to work!
