What looks like a barbecue, smells like a barbecue, and feels like a barbecue? Well, a barbecue, of course!

Oh, I’m sorry. Did you expect to see pictures of barbecued food, all nice and browned, smokey-looking, juicy, plump, (slobber)?

I think it’s similar to an example with a lion. If you left a big, juicy steak in front of a lion and said, “Please wait a moment while I get my camera and take a picture.” Exactly. Great food doesn’t wait for people, and people don’t wait for great food. They dig in.

Tonight’s BBQ included shrimp with a garlic, sudachi (like limes; sudachi are native to this area of Japan), olive oil sauce, chicken breast with the same sauce, chicken wings with 2 sauces: Alabama BBQ chicken sauce, and Montreal Steak spiced BBQ sauce.

We also ate baked potatoes courtesy of our neighbours next door who dug up their potatoes this morning and were kind enough to share with us. They were delicious!

Look at the makeshift table in the picture (we ate outside). How much food do you see?

Exactly.

Great food doesn’t wait, and don’t wait for great food. Dig in!

The chicken and shrimp were BBQ’d, then mixed with their respective sauces. The 2 BBQ sauced foods went back on for another minute or two to caramelize and further flavour the chicken.

Though I love beef for BBQ’s, when you have a meal turn out like it did tonight you really are thankful for the BBQ’s ability to create so many different delicious foods.
