Just call me Bob, as in Bob Vila. Actually as you may recall in a previous post, I’m more like Tim ‘The Tool Time’ Taylor from the show Home Improvement. After pulling out my tools, measuring, cutting, drilling and screwing, this is what we came up with.

The stairs I built 8 years ago, out the back of our dining room had been slowly disintegrating. Those stairs were made by accident as I was just playing around with scrap wood and before I knew it had built some stairs. Poor construction, design and maintenance led to the eventual ending of those stairs. New ones were needed and that same bad builder had to do it.

The stairs came together over a couple of hours yesterday before dinnertime and were quickly covered up due to the threat of rain. Then lo and behold today we had nice weather. After a quick sanding, all four of us were out there painting on the stain. Hopefully the memory will be stained on our brains over the years as we walk up and down these stairs.
