Do you like BBQ sauce? So do I. But, if you live where I do in Japan, you cannot buy BBQ sauce.

Every day I reach for you(woo yah, the Magic Sauce)Good with bread and good with soup(woo yah, the Magic Sauce)I can eat it every day(woo yah, the Magic Sauce)Hope nobody takes it away(woo yah, the Magic Sauce)Apologies to the Who, and their song "Magic Bus."Tonight on our menu, we're having hot dogs. I love hot dogs of all kinds, but tonight we're having black pepper sausages in our hot dog buns. One of the condiments we, as a family, like to use is BBQ sauce. However, it is not usually possible to buy BBQ sauce where we live in Japan. It is possible to get BBQ sauce, either by returning to your home country, having friends or family send the BBQ sauce to you, or by using an internet shopping site. For me, the easiest way to have BBQ sauce is to make my own. Necessity, the mother of invention, has been another parent for me here in Japan. I love Japanese food but when we eat non-Japanese food, it is often easier and tastier to make my own alternative to the food I cannot buy here. This BBQ sauce came out smokey, sweet, and spicy. On the hot dogs, it was perfect! As you can see, I didn't make loads of BBQ sauce. It will last us a while and when it runs out, I'll whip up another batch.BBQ sauce, a.k.a. Magic Sauce.
