Some gardening.

We did some work in our garden today.

It sure doesn’t look like much from the photo, but this little garden produces a lot of little treats for us.That green bag hanging from the tree contains a tomato plant. Up and out of the way, we’ll be able to pick tomatoes as they hang down and we get to plant something else in our garden beds.Down in the garden beds, closest to the camera we have zucchini, basil, corn and sorrel. Near the middle we have Italian parsley, kale, dill and arugula/rocket. And at the far end there are garlic chives (Japanese ねぎ), celery and shiso.Mixed in throughout all of that is a couple of other plants and more I’m sure that will come up due to mixing our kitchen compost into the soil.At the far end of the yard there is mint, thyme, blueberries, two olive trees and a planter with tomato plants hanging over the wall. Around the corner is blackberries, raspberries and beans, if they come up.Around the other corner is more kale, jalapẽno peppers, and if we’re lucky, cranberries. With some nice weather, a little luck, and even less insects, we should manage to get some food on our table this summer. Wait and see.
