Cherry Blossoms

Our family went for a picnic today and enjoyed the cherry blossoms.

Spring has finally come. The long, cold winter is passing the torch to spring. Now is the time of warmer weather, blossoms, new greenery and new starts.

After a somewhat wet and windy weekend we had a reprieve today and we could enjoy some warm and sunny weather. It didn’t last all day, but it did last long enough for us to enjoy ourselves on a picnic.

We went to Naruto’ Sports Park because there are many cherry trees to enjoy and it also is large enough to offer a variety of locations for having a picnic with your choice of sun or shade. Because today is a weekday, there were few people in the park. This meant that finding the perfect picnic spot was easy.

The cherry blossoms are filling in nicely but my guess is that later this week will probably be the best time to see them. By next weekend, it may be too late to enjoy the blossoms. At this time of year the weather is unpredictable with rainy, windy weather all to often putting an end to the cherry blossom viewing.

Now that the blossoms are here, we’ll be sure to enjoy them whenever and wherever we have a chance to see them. Time is short, so enjoy them while you can.
