Dog Biscuits

I made some biscuits for Muffin today.

Yesterday Muffin finished the last of his breadsticks. Recently I've been using breadsticks as a snack for him because they were cheap (about $1) and they didn't have salt or oil. They were crispy and dry and Muffin seemed to enjoy them. When I went shopping yesterday I couldn't find any more packages of the breadsticks.Today, I decided to shop around and see if I could find a similar product at some other store. After visiting many stores, I found that my choices were either dog biscuits, or cheese-flavoured breadsticks. I thought the dog biscuits weren't hard enough and contained some questionable ingredients, and the cheese-flavoured breadsticks sounded tasty but were rather expensive.I returned home, determined to make some biscuits for Muffin. I decided to use a recipe from Bernard Clayton's New Complete Book of Breads (order it from Amazon Japan) which is my bread bible. I didn't / couldn't add all the ingredients in the recipe, but the end product turned out well. These biscuits were cheap to make, contain nothing bad or artificial, and they have a satisfying crunch. Seeing as how I made them and they had no bad ingredients, I did some testing with Muffin and found them pretty good. I'll save them for Muffin though, seeing as I have other options to munch on and he doesn't.
